Turkey Chili

Today is a warm pot of chili day. Snow, even if it is melting always makes me want warm soup or chili. Here is what is cooking away on the stove top!

 Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons of coconut oil, extra virgin organic purchased through amazon.com
1 pound of organic turkey
1 large yellow onion
1 cup of dry white wine
1 cup of beef broth
1 ounce of dark chocolate
1 large tomato, chopped
4 cups of kidney beans ( I use dry ones that I have soaked and pre cooked)
10 cloves of garlic, diced
1 tablespoon of black pepper
2 Tablespoons of chili powder
1 tsp of cumin
1 tsp of dried cilantro
1 jalapeƱo chopped
1/2 tsp of red chili pepper crushed
Optional Top with avocado or cheese (if you aren't allergic)

Directions: Place coconut oil, onion, and turkey in pot on stove top. Cook until browned.
Then add wine, beef broth, chocolate, garlic, and spices. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
Then add in kidney beans, and tomato.

Let simmer together on stove top with lid in place for 30-60 minutes to let the flavors mix. Top with optional toppings and serve!
